This is a villa project that is designed to express the contemporary Asian-Lifestyle. The formality of a traditional Chinese Courtyard is integrated into the plan layout, creating a central communal zone around the central stair. Stone paving is used in this communal space to create a seemingly outdoor ambiance. Warmer material combinations are adopted in the living areas around this central court to establish an affectionate Asian character. Formal expressions are crisp and simple. Special design attention is directed to articulating the notions of layering and texture.
